We're excited to announce a major update to how you discover lesson plans on Just Teach! Our new and improved search functionality makes it easier than ever for K–5 educators to find exactly the right lesson plan — fast.

What's New

We've enhanced the Just Teach search platform with a suite of new filters and improvements designed specifically for elementary educators:

  • Subject Filter — Browse by English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, or Arts

  • Grade Level Filter — Quickly narrow results to Kindergarten through Grade 5, including multi-grade ranges

  • Keyword & Topic Filter — 35 curated topic tags including Phonics, Fractions, Life Cycles, STEM, Inferencing, and more

  • Quick Search Shortcuts — One-click searches for popular combinations like "Kindergarten Phonics", "Grade 3 Science", and "Free Resources"

  • Smart Sort Options — Sort by Newest, Grade Level, Title A–Z, or Most Popular

  • Difficulty Level Filter — Find Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced lesson content matched to your class

How to Use the New Search

Using the upgraded search is simple:

  1. Type a keyword into the search bar (e.g., "phonics", "fractions", "ecosystems")

  2. Use the Grade Level filter to narrow down results to your classroom's needs

  3. Select a Subject (ELA, Math, Science, Arts, or Social Studies) to focus your results

  4. Pick a topic tag from the keyword cloud to quickly find lesson plans on specific skills

  5. Use Quick Search shortcuts at the top to jump to the most popular resource combinations

Built for Educators, By Educators

Every filter and search option was designed with classroom teachers in mind. Whether you're planning a week's worth of lessons or looking for one quick activity to fill a learning gap, the search feature helps you find it in seconds — not minutes.

Our search is optimized for:

  • Speed — results appear instantly as you type

  • Relevance — full-text search across titles, descriptions, learning objectives, and standards

  • Accessibility — intuitive interface usable on desktop, tablet, and mobile

  • Curriculum alignment — filter by Common Core-aligned standards

Try It Today

Visit the Just Teach lesson plan library and try out the new search filters. We'd love to hear your feedback — what's working great, and what would make it even better for your classroom!

Happy teaching! 🎓
